Infinity Ward has detailed three tiers of PC specifications for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 ahead of its October 23 launch, covering minimum, recommended, and ray tracing builds. A built-in benchmark tool is meant to help players dial in settings suited to their hardware.
The studio says it is targeting 90 frames per second at recommended specs without requiring manual tweaks, and ray tracing will appear across Campaign, Multiplayer, and DMZ. Upscaling options include NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR Redstone, Intel XeSS 3, and Filmic SMAA T2X, alongside features like Enhanced FOV and split depth-of-field controls.
The tuning options and benchmark tool could lower the barrier for players on varied hardware, potentially widening who can join at launch. Emphasis on frame rate and upscaling may shape expectations for how PC ports are judged, nudging other studios toward similar transparency. Players with older machines may still find minimum specs demanding, and the anti-cheat and shader delivery changes could affect how smoothly sessions begin.
