Xbox Weekend Freebies: PGA Tour 2K25 and The Division 2 Lead September 24-27 Lineup
Xbox's Free Play Days event runs from September 24 to 27, offering PGA Tour 2K25 and The Division 2 to all players at no cost. Game Pass subscribers can also access The Escapists 2 and Young Suns during the same period. The Division 2 is currently discounted on the Xbox Store for those who want to keep it permanently.
The free weekend lineup pairs a realistic golf sim with a loot-driven shooter, giving players a taste of two very different genres without cost. PGA Tour 2K25 returns after a previous Free Play Days appearance, while The Division 2’s hardcore mode offers a permadeath twist for returning players. Both titles are available to all Xbox users, regardless of subscription status. Meanwhile, Game Pass members get additional access to The Escapists 2 and Young Suns, the latter also carrying a small discount. The Division 2’s steep price cut makes it an easy purchase for those who want to continue past the trial window.
This promotion could nudge casual players toward deeper engagement with live-service games like The Division 2, potentially expanding its player base and microtransaction revenue. Free trials may also influence purchasing decisions, especially with discounts attached, benefiting publishers while giving budget-conscious gamers low-risk entry points. However, the reliance on subscription tiers may reinforce a divide between standard and premium Xbox users, shaping how future free events are structured.
