Bubble Bobble 4 Friends Switch 2 edition adds Stardrop Mountain expansion
Clear River Games and Taito announced Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron is Back – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Stardrop Mountain. The package adds the Stardrop Mountain expansion, includes the original Bubble Bobble arcade game, and features improved resolution plus Camera Play support. It follows the earlier Switch release and supports up to four-player co-op.
Clear River Games and Taito are bringing an expanded Bubble Bobble package to Nintendo Switch 2. It builds on the earlier Switch title and adds Stardrop Mountain, a stage collection featuring Invaduh. The 1986 arcade original is also included.
The release supports four-player local co-op with Bub, Bob, Peb, and Pab. It offers 200 stages, returning E-X-T-E-N-D bubbles, and Baron von Blubba. On Switch 2, resolution reaches 1920×1080, while Camera Play places player photos inside launched bubbles. It will be sold physically and digitally.
This announcement may appeal to nostalgic arcade fans and families seeking shared couch play. A four-player package with camera features could encourage social gatherings around Switch 2, while the included 1986 original may introduce younger players to early gaming history. Physical and digital availability may broaden access, though its impact likely remains within the niche of retro and party-game audiences rather than reshaping broader entertainment habits.
