Nintendo eShop Highlights: EA Sports FC 27, Minecraft Dungeons II, and More
This week's Nintendo Download includes pre-orders for EA Sports FC 27, Minecraft Dungeons II, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered for Switch 2. A free trial of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is available for Nintendo Switch Online members until Sept. 30. The eShop also features a variety of new games and sales across both Switch and Switch 2.
Three major pre-orders anchor this week's eShop update. EA Sports FC 27 launches Sept. 25 with an Ultimate Edition offering early access and premium perks. Minecraft Dungeons II arrives Sept. 29 with new locations and cooperative play. The Witcher 3 Remastered also launches Sept. 29 on Switch 2, featuring gyro aiming, mouse controls, and touch support, with free upgrades for existing Switch owners.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is free to try for Switch Online members through Sept. 30, with save data carrying over and a 70% purchase discount until Oct. 7. The WarioWare: Move It! soundtrack hit Nintendo Music, and a My Nintendo sweepstakes offers Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave prizes through Dec. 8.
This release slate could significantly influence Switch 2 adoption, as major third-party titles like EA Sports FC 27 and The Witcher 3 Remastered showcase the platform's expanded capabilities. The free upgrade path for Witcher 3 owners may encourage existing Switch users to transition to new hardware. The Prince of Persia trial and discount could boost that game's player base, while the Minecraft Dungeons sequel may draw families and younger audiences. These releases collectively may strengthen Nintendo's position in the competitive holiday gaming market.
