PS Plus Subscribers Get Free Spider-Man: Brand New Day Avatars Next Week

Starting 6th October, PS Plus subscribers can claim six free PSN avatars tied to Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The icons are offered alongside the film's digital release in the Sony Pictures Core app and include Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Zendaya's MJ Watson. Non-members can still obtain the avatars by purchasing the digital movie, and next week also brings new PS Plus Essential titles such as F1 25 and Hunt: Showdown 1896.
The free icons arrive as Spider-Man: Brand New Day becomes available digitally through Sony Pictures Core. PS Plus members must open that app and complete the in-app process to redeem all six profile pictures. Those without a subscription can still secure the set by buying the movie digitally.
The film previously set a domestic box office record and has approached $2.5 billion internationally, ranking third among all-time earners. Separately, next week's PS Plus Essential offerings include F1 25 and Hunt: Showdown 1896.
This crossover may mainly affect PlayStation owners who also follow superhero films, giving subscribers a small digital perk and non-members an incentive to buy the movie. It could strengthen ties between Sony's gaming and film services, encouraging app engagement. However, avatar promotions are cosmetic and may have limited broader impact beyond fan communities and collectors.
