Croc 2 remaster locks in October Switch launch

Argonaut Games has completed development on the Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos remaster and scheduled it for Nintendo Switch on October 29, 2026. The remaster updates the original 1999 3D platformer with better graphics and usability tweaks. A new trailer was also released.
Argonaut says work on the Croc 2 remaster is finished, with a Switch date of October 29, 2026. The project revisits the 1999 platformer, adding sharper visuals and usability changes while keeping its original structure. A release-date trailer accompanied the announcement.
The sequel sends Croc across four villages to find his parents and rescue Gobbos, while Baron Dante returns for revenge. Alongside familiar jumping and tail attacks, he can triple jump and use minecarts, cars, speedboats, a hang glider, and a wooden plane. An in-game Croc2pedia collects development material, cut content, and a 90-minute documentary. It launches digitally first, with physical later.
The release may mainly affect nostalgic players, younger families, and collectors who use Switch. A completed remaster could renew interest in 1990s platformers and Argonaut’s legacy, while the digital-first plan may shape how fans choose between immediate access and waiting for a physical copy. Its documentary extras could also give players and developers a small window into game-history preservation.
