FlatOut 4 VR Reaches 1.0 With More Vehicles, Modes, and a $29.99 Price

FlatOut 4: Total Insanity VR has left PC VR Early Access with its 1.0 release on Steam. The update introduces first-person ejections, reworked multiplayer, adjustable AI, support for bHaptics and more steering wheels, extra vehicles, and performance improvements. The price has increased from $19.99 to $29.99.
FlatOut 4: Total Insanity VR is the first title from Flat2VR's Spark effort, which connects seasoned VR modders with game studios. A second Spark game, I Am Your Beast VR, arrived last month. Before leaving Early Access, the racer gained compatibility with many steering-wheel and pedal peripherals.
The 1.0 launch also raises the price to $29.99, matching the original FlatOut 4. Such post-Early Access increases have precedent: Forefront VR did so earlier this year, Beat Saber moved from $19.99 to $29.99 in 2019, and Pavlov Shack shifted from a free beta to $19.99.
The 1.0 release could affect VR racing enthusiasts and players invested in motion rigs or haptic gear, who may gain more immersive options and multiplayer flexibility. The higher price may make some budget-conscious buyers hesitate, while demonstrating a possible path for VR mod-to-standalone projects. Its reception could shape how developers approach Early Access exits and accessibility for specialized hardware.
