Fresh Ocarina of Time remake details highlight gameplay changes
Nintendo has provided additional information and footage for the Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The updated game includes features such as fairy thoughts, a fifth bottle, and compatibility with past Zelda amiibo. It will run at 60 frames per second, and two new Ocarina of Time amiibo are scheduled for 2027.
The Switch 2 remake of Ocarina of Time has received fresh footage and details. A new fairy thoughts mechanic lets Navi reveal secrets at certain environmental spots, separate from her original hints. Navi's light body now appears fuzzy, and her wings carry a more intricate pattern. Players can also obtain a fifth bottle by catching a bug in the potion shop.
Compatibility extends to all past Zelda amiibo, which provide heart refills, ammo, and magic jars. Two new Ocarina of Time amiibo arrive in 2027 and unlock Nintendo 64-themed masks. The game runs at 60 frames per second, and previews show slightly adjusted Forest Temple puzzles and rooms. Link can choose between Saria's Ocarina and the Ocarina of Time once he has both. A Business Seed Scrub summons a Deku salesman.
