Home's 14th anniversary brings a mobile patch and free Epic giveaway

The pixel-art horror game Home has received a 14th anniversary update for iOS and Android. The patch adds a Switch-originated mode with commentary that changes based on player decisions, an art gallery, improved controller support, and 60 FPS. The game is free on the Epic Games Store for mobile until October 29.
Home first reached PC in 2012, and its creator, Benjamin Rivers, had wanted an iPad version from the beginning. That mobile release arrived a year later, and the game is still being updated fourteen years after launch. The new anniversary patch is available on both iOS and Android.
The update imports Postmortem Mode from the Switch edition. Its creator commentary reacts to player choices, mirroring how the story's conclusions can vary. A gallery of production material, stronger controller support, and 60 FPS are also included. The game can be claimed free on the Epic Games Store for mobile from October 22 to 29.
This release may give mobile players a low-commitment way to try a well-liked short horror game, potentially drawing more attention to narrative-driven titles on phones. It could also help Epic's mobile store attract users who might otherwise avoid installing another marketplace, though the effect may be limited to players already curious about indie horror. Existing fans on iOS and Android may appreciate the added commentary, gallery, and performance improvements, while newcomers could experience the game for free during the promotional window.
