Silent Hill: Townfall PC Performance Tested Across Modern GPUs

Konami's Silent Hill: Townfall runs on Unreal Engine 5 and has been benchmarked on a wide range of AMD and Nvidia graphics cards. The game offers graphics settings, Hardware Lumen ray tracing, DLSS, and FSR, but lacks frame generation and Intel XeSS. At 1080p ultra all tested GPUs delivered smooth performance, 1440p ultra exceeded 60 FPS on the top five GPUs, and native 4K ultra only reached 60 FPS on the RTX 5090.
Testing used a Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 32 GB DDR5-6000, Windows 10, and the listed GeForce/Radeon drivers. Cards ranged from RX 6900XT, RX 7900XTX, RX 9070XT and RTX 2080Ti, 3080, 4090, 5080, to RTX 5090. Adjustable options cover fog, textures, reflections, shadows, and Hardware Lumen ray tracing; DLSS and FSR are included, but frame generation and Intel XeSS are absent.
Because no benchmark tool exists, the tester chose an early, demanding section. At 1080p ultra every card stayed smooth; at 1440p ultra the five strongest exceeded 60 FPS; native 4K ultra reached 60 FPS only on RTX 5090. Hardware Lumen oddly outperformed Software Lumen. Shader compilation during play caused severe stutters, and the launch compile step did not cover all shaders.
PC players, especially those with older CPUs or hoping for Intel XeSS, may feel the impact most: shader stutters could disrupt play, while missing XeSS and frame generation may limit options. The benchmark results could also shape GPU upgrade decisions, as native 4K ultra appears attainable only on the RTX 5090. Developers and publishers may face pressure to improve shader precompilation and add features post-launch, influencing how future Unreal Engine 5 ports are received.
