KyTyPS5 Emulator Pushes Demon’s Souls Remake to 40–50 FPS on High-End PC

The KyTyPS5 PlayStation 5 emulator can now run Demon’s Souls Remake at 40–50 FPS on an Intel Core i9 14900K with an NVIDIA RTX 5090. The shown build is a local fork that is not yet available on GitHub, and the footage covers only a few locations. The emulator went from barely running the game in early September to this performance in about a month.
The KyTyPS5 emulator’s Demon’s Souls Remake demo comes from a local fork, not a public GitHub release, so ordinary users cannot try it yet. The footage lasts about three minutes and covers only two or three areas, leaving mid-game and late-game performance unknown.
Progress has been rapid: before September the game barely launched; on September 8 it hit 1 FPS, then 2 FPS two days later, 15–18 FPS on September 12, and 30 FPS the next day. The current 40–50 FPS result reportedly shows limited visual issues.
This development could mainly affect high-end PC enthusiasts and emulation communities, who may gain another way to revisit a console-exclusive title without original hardware. If performance improves and the build becomes public, it might broaden interest in PS5 emulation and game preservation. However, because the demonstration uses top-tier hardware and covers limited areas, its near-term social impact may stay niche, with most players unlikely to benefit soon.
